Jeff Green is a native of Nebraska and graduated with a BS in computer science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1992. He worked for several software companies, including Microsoft, before founding The Trade Desk in 2009.

Green worked at Microsoft from 1992to 2000, as a programmer and then as a product manager.

In 2000, he founded his first company, Reply Solutions, a company specializing in software for managing online advertising campaigns.

In 2007, Green sold Reply Solutions to Microsoft for an undisclosed amount.




According to Green, the digital advertising industry was still under development in 2009 and there were few options for advertisers who wanted to invest in this sector.


So he decided to create The Trade Desk, a programmatic advertising platform that would allow advertisers to efficiently buy advertising space on the Internet.


The Trade Desk has grown rapidly and has entered into partnerships with leading companies in the sector, including Facebook, Google, and Yahoo.


In 2016, Green led The Trade Desk to go public (NASDAQ: TTD). Today, The Trade Desk is one of the world’s leading programmatic advertising companies.
